Past gatherings of Signatories to the Invitation to ETI

When several Signatories to the Invitation to ETI will be at a conference, I sometimes host a lunch or dinner for them, usually with a seminar or discussion as well. All Signatories are welcome at each of these gatherings, of course. It is an opportunity for members of the group to become better aquainted,and to enjoy the companionship of other members. It is also an opportunity to explore how to achieve contact with any ETI that has reached the solar system, and how to prepare for the days immediately following contact.

You can read a summary of the discussion at the 1999 Amsterdam gathering (during the IAA SETI meetings) and the 2000 Santa Clara gathering (just before CONTACT). Paul Shuch's words for our "Welcome, ETI" song were distributed at the 2000 Santa Clara gathering so that everyone could join in the singing.

During the optical SETI conference organized by Stuart Kingsley in January 2001, several Signatories met for dinner and a discussion sparked by mini-paper handouts brought by several participants. Photo #1, taken by Scot Stride, and Photo #2, taken by H. Paul Shuch, show the group.

Albert Harrison prepared a summary of our discussion at the gathering in Santa Clara (California) held on March 1, 2001, just before the annual CONTACT conference.
